Speaking of photoshoots, Kittentaboo got her cd from our semi team shoot last sunday. I'm still eagerly awaiting mine. I have a lot of reasons for that, but one of the big reasons is that i don't like a lot of the shots of me that the photographer has been putting up in his portfolio. He's inexperienced when it comes to shooting with men, and you'd think that wouldn't be a big deal, but the result is that he makes Kittentaboo look really good and makes me look really bad, because, especially in the shots where we're posing together, he seemed to be focusing more on her than on BOTH of us. I've seen the same thing in some of the shots he's sent me as reference for shots we might pose for later; the guy looks terrible, and the girl looks really good (even though she's got the worst case of butterface i've ever seen). I'm all for helping a person expand their portfolio, but hey, it's MY portfolio too. Hopefully things will get better (we've got another shoot planned for friday). He referred me to another photographer who specializes in working with men, and i liked what i saw of that person's portfolio, so i'll definitely check it out. Oh, also, most of the stuff he shot of me was full frontal nude, which i can't put up in my OMP portfolio because they hate penises, apparently. Full frontal nude is fine for a girl, but not for a guy... hmm.. DOUBLE STANDARD, ANYONE???!!!
As much as i enjoy nude modeling, i really do want to expand into something else. Seems like the reall opportunities for male model is in the realm of clothed anyway, so it'll just be better for me to work in that direction. Kind of a shame that a nude male figure is so under appreciated as art anymore. But then i guess it just goes to show who's in control of what is considered "art," and I guess the Hellenistic and Post Hellenistic Greek standards just dont apply anymore among the far-to-the-right conservative rich majority who's too afraid of appearing to be "gay" to acknowledge that a nude male form can be art and not porn. Maybe they're just afraid of being put to shame by the model's penis compared to their own shriveling, wrinkled, viagra-can't-bring-'em-back-to-life pathetic excuses for members?
I got to admit Im a lil guilty of being baised in my art preferences myself....if Im going to look at something then I want it to be female....not cuz I dont think that males can be good art...but cuz I just like looking at ladies
