Ok here's the deal:
I kinda hate everything right now. But of course, this year hasn't exactly gotten off to the best start, so that's probably a factor.
Everything that i used to enjoy for fun seems to have turned to crap, or been made unavailable to me in one way or another. I disagree with a lot of people whom i would normally agree with. I'm pissed with the world, i dislike my job, a whole lot of things in my life are flying out of control and i thought that maybe someplace that i used to be able to go for entertainment or intelligent conversation (among many) really isn't doing it for me anymore. I generally work with a bunch of closed-minded idiots (except for a few saving graces), and then i come online and there are more idiots.
I can't even come here for the pictures anymore with any kind of consistency because the photography lately on this site has been completely uncreative cookie cutter garbage. This girls look different, sure, but the photography is completely lacking. No dynamism, no creative camera angles, standard lighting, stagnant concepts. Yeah yeah, i know... "it's about the girls' personal expression." Fine. Well, the girls are boring, and their photographers aren't helping. The actually creative and interesting sets (Dierdre's latest, for instance) get rejected for reasons unbeknownst to me. It's a sad day when the pictures on a porn site (with few exceptions) fail you.
Even the articles here simply bore me now. FTR stays relevant, but there's no point in commenting on them because the idiot brigade is usually in before i even have time to say "hey, good article, man." If there's anything else here worth reading, PLEASE point me to it.
The Christians' group is as stagnant as it's ever been, and i don't have the will to try to revive it YET again. Someone take it.
Anime is boring now. I used to LOVE anime. I probably still would if there was something interesting out there, that ALSO had some consistently good animation. Anyone? Anyone?

People disappoint me on a pretty consistent basis, the entertainment industry is the biggest swirling pile of shit its ever been; everything seems to be made with the lowest common denominator in mind. Where is the quality? Or is anything that will be worth watching, reading, or looking going to have to be made by my own hands? Nothing i can do about the people. They'll always suck.
I feel like i used to be so optimistic and idealistic about everything. Maybe i still am idealistic, at least. But right now my optimism is feeling like an all time low, because all i see is crap.

Can't margue with you about the rest of the things you say, but as far as articles go, they're not nearly as interesting, and the new format doesn't help, and the sets... well yeah, I really liked seeing Dot's last but creativity hasn't been very abundant as of late.
Don't have many suggestions on Anime, did you ever watch the one based on Alexander of Macedonia's life? Here in Mexico it was called "Alexander" I believe it's called Reign or some other thing like that in the US. Pretty neat, a bit like Aeon Flux too.
And finally it's not really surprising that there's such a low standard, when you think of it, most things seem to be designed to be disposable now: phones, computers, food, clothes, buildings. Shit's not made to leave an imprint anymore it just exists and serves a purpose. Even us humans seem to be trying hard to fit a certain role to be filled by someone else after we're discarded.
