One year and approximately 6 hours ago, Cairo and i sat in an empty courtroom chapel, in jeans, t-shirts and autumn jackets, waiting for a judge to come in. About 5 minutes later, after reviewing the details of the certificate she was about to hand to us, we stood together under a makeshift canopy, and had our love and our relationship legally verified by the state of Maryland.
Then we went to IHOP.
They say that the best things in life, that last the longest, start small and simple. Or, as Master Splinter once said: "Do not confuse your humble beginnings with your present worth, my sons."
Now, we have a house, two kittens, and are building our future.
