What style of kung fu do you study? I'm always curious to know what other martial artists are doing.

I do a mish-mash, that my Sifu called "Harmonious Fist." It's tajking pieces of Hung Gar, Wing Chun, Northern Longfist and a little Thai Boxing.

To answer your question,i *CAN* dance, but i'm not a trained dancer or anything likehtat. I do kung fu though, so that can come off as dance depending on the moves i do. Glad you enjoyed the set!

I don't know who came up with the term, but I hate it. People use it to make fun of the music I listen to. I guess it means emotional or something like that...you know, you have to cut off half the letters in any given word if you want to make it cool . Check out this thread. I think there may be some links to emo sites somewhere under all of the crap.

That was really well written. I have a similar situation with my family, only I'm not black.

My family is from South Carolina. They're so deep into the south, that they feel the only reason they lost the Civil War was because they ran out of grits. Racism is abundant there, and people discriminate because they were born into that tension. I grew up in Seattle, and we have so much diversity here - sure there is still racism, you get that anywhere - but there isn't the same kind of tension, like what you're talking about in this part of the country. It's hard when I go home to visit the family because I can't stand the terminology they use when referring to African Americans. It makes me feel uncomfortable, and I can't help but think of some members of my family as Red-necks.

It's good that you're able to move past a lot of that negativity from your past. I'm still working on mine, but my family is so far away from me, it's hard to really have an impact on my relationship with them when I only get to see them once a year.

I'll tell you about the last girl that I asked out. I only knew her first name and where she worked. We'd had short conversations there a couple of times before. On a Monday I went to her workplace to ask her out. They told me she was off that day. Every day from Tuesday to Thursday I pretty much just missed her. Twice they asked me if I wanted to leave her a message and I declined. Friday, the 5th day, convinced that I was stalking this poor girl, I showed up and she was there this time. She knew I'd been looking for her and said that I looked so cute and scared that she couldn't say no. That relationship lasted 9 years.

Of course, people are very different from specimen to specimen. There is no "I'm right, you're wrong" dating advice that applies to every single person. But some things are usually a not-so-good idea. Stalking is one, asking in a message is another. lol.

I do hope that it turns around for you.
