Next weekend, July 10th is going to be extra special. My best girlfriend and I will be traveling to San Francisco to see the one, the only: SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY.
Today I made our hotel reservation, our rental car reservation, and am discussing with an SF friend the best/cheapest way to park so serious shopping can be had. That made it SO much more real. I can't even believe it...in a matter of a week I will be seeing Paul fucking McCartney live in concert. I will probably cry, no I WILL cry.
The bittersweet part of the whole deal is that my Dad's birthday is July 8th, he would've been 53. Dad taught me all about music, he taught me how to play guitar and bass and piano. Dad taught me all about rock and roll, by the time I was 6 I knew more Beatles, Bowie, and Tom Petty than children's songs.
Not only will I be with my best friend, in SF, shopping...but I will see one of my music heroes! I absolutely can't wait.
