ok. i'm back from my extraterrestrial vacation to the beaches of mexico...
so this actually happened about a week ago, but it was so awesome, i still have to give a shout out to it.
a while back AdamElectric wrote me a quick email to ask if he could send me a bumper sticker he'd seen while on vacation. adam e has been my friend around these parts for a while, so of course i agreed. last week, i received in the mail, not only said bumper sticker, but the MOST AWESOME MIXED CD IN THE WORLD, plus a very thoughtful letter.
i cannot emphasize how much this rocked. i have been feeling SO GODDAMN CRAPPY, and there's nothing like postal surprises to cheer you up. but adam e also helped me to remember that, just because you feel like you're fucking up on every level spiritually, it doesn't equate a failure. that as a matter of fact, it's cause for celebration. that one is trying, that life is loved so much that such an effort is made, that there is beauty in falling flat on your face, and even the mud, muck and crap is sacred. i'm a scorpio, you'd think i'd remember these things, but when i'm in the thick of it, often all i can see is WRONG WRONG WRONG. most of all, it meant so much to have someone reach out, and say, "hey, even when you're a fuck up, you're still lovable'. i forget that too easily.
then there was the mixed cd...
oh my god, he could not done a better job in nailing my random eclectic taste. i love this cd, i've been listening to it non-stop. and the best part is...every song has a little message in it, each one exactly what i needed to hear.
it's really incredible how much of a difference small kindnesses make....enough to reignite my little magic spark. and trust.
so go say hi to my friend...he's quite the jewel, many faceted...
stay tuned...trying to decide if next i am going to start a week of rants and tirades in an effort to honor how pissed off shit can make me, or a free for all questionaire...hmmmm....
