Today I said good bye to my friend Rich. He's leaving to go to Texas for three months for training, then he's off to Iraq for two years. It's a really sad experience working woth somone for three years, then all of a sudden you have to say farwell to them and hope that someday you'll see them again. He's the type of person that I look up to, and who I want to be like. I really feel like I'm loosing a father figure, and a hero more than I feel like I'm loosing a friend 
I wanted to get him somthing really special for when he's out in the field, so I got him a desert camo Camel Pac. He was really impressed that I spent a grip to get it for him, I told him that it was nothing and that I just wished that I could have gotten him more. He wanted to take it but they get them issued standard now by the goverment so he couldnt.
A group of 15 spent the day eating food and playing poker, trying not to show how sad we all were that he would be gone tomorrow. I really gonna miss tht guy... I just hope he comes back in one piece

UGH! Life has been shitty lately. But Burning Man is coming up so at least there's some light at the end of the tunnel.
