So I had a very nice, very relaxing weekend with my baby. We went and saw X3-The Last Stand on Fri. I'm trying to formulate some joke incorporating "last stand" and something about the movie sucking so bad me not "standing' for it, but I can't really crack one out right now tongue We also tooled around 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica whilst waiting for the movie to start, and had some fun lookin at shoes n stuff. I picked up a new pair of Adidas Compton STs. Anybody that knows me well knows I love shoes, esp. Adidas, and being at 50% off the sale price I snagged them for under 30 bones. SCORE! love

Sat. & Sun. was spent pretty much indulging in our video game/movie addiction. Watched Memiors of a Geisha which I thoroughly enjoyed and video games, well, always entertain me for way longer then maybe they should. Also a lil bit of relaxation time with my roommates and some mojitos (from which Pricia got drunk off of).

And then Mon. was the inevitable memorial day BBQ. We had quite a feast of seasoned pork and burgers, chips with freshly made salsa and guacamole, beer, and more mojitos (from which Pricia got drunk off of yet again. Only this time it just took one because my roommate, Julian, kicked it up a notch with the rum. Thanks buddy wink ) All in all, a good note to end a wonderful 3 day weekend on. Unfortunatly, being broke, I won't get to see my baby any more this week because I would actually have to sell one of my kidneys on the black market to pay for the gas.

Also, to whomever this may concern, I am going to basically pack up and move outta my house by the end of this week. That being said with the knowledge of me having no place to move into yet, I'm sending out a formal 'cry for help'. If you yourself or anybody you know lives in or around the LA area (specifically Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, and immdedate surrounding areas) that has a spare room or even couch and a small bit of extra space for me to freeload, pleaaase inform me. I would even be willing to pay a little bit of money for the trouble. I don't have a lot of stuff. Some plastic storage bins full of my crap, my computer, clothes, stereo, guitar, and a small TV. Maybe my full size matress...I dunno. It may end up being a casualty of the move depending on circumstance. In all honesty, it doesn't even need to be that close to previously stated areas. As long as I can catch a bus to work and don't have to wake up at 5am to get there I'm game. Beggars can't be choosers.

Me = beggar. Thanks for the help folks! kiss love

I rant about X3:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I'll just lay this out there 1st. When I left the theater after this movie, something inside of me died. Anybody arguing that the characters won't always be like the ones in the comics, fine. Fact of the matter is, the characters in X3 weren't even true to the personalities that were established in the previous movies. It was if all emotions and characters were disconnected from their previous roles and put in a new movie completely. Relationships re-established only for continuity reasons. Lamecakes. I'm not going to blame Ratner for this one. He came in late on an already shitty script. There was only so much any director can do when starting on a bad platform. Previously main characters vanishing for the whole movie simply because they weren't important or didn't have time (Man...I sure am glad they used up some screen time to show Angel flying around like a douche for a few mins rather then elaborate on the Rogue situation).

Wolverine...he cries three times during this movie people. That's three times a bitch! He's been alive for fucking ever! He's been through deaths of loved ones before. No memory? Doesn't matter! He's still a total badass! I'd give him the crying for Jean ordeal. Understandable. But crying for Cyclops? He hated that dick. Crying for Prof X? No way. He was a joke in this movie with bad one liners and jokes. They made Wolverine...a...fucking....joke. Simply unforgivable.

Juggernaut. God. OK. I've come to terms with the fact that they didn't want him to be magical and made him a mutant. Still...if a guy that size runs into a wall with a metal helmut on...I mean honestly...it's not going to knock him out cold. Maybe knock him backwards, make him dizzy, disorienting maybe, but not knocked out cold. Thanks. He still would've pummeled them.

Leech? Thanks for the next completely random plot point for the two sides to squable over. Just like in the previous movies. Nothing new at all. Here's something that could happen. It all builds up to that one point. Do the bad guys succeed in their dastardly plot (destroy all humans, make them all mutants, whatever), or do the X-Men save the day and stop them from obtaining/performing said object/scheme. Would I honestly give a shit if Leech lived or died? No. Not for one ioda. In a way, I wish he would've so they could procede with something slightly more entertaining.

Pyro. Why in the world does Magneto make him his right hand along with and after Mystique? His game is weak. Period. It's like Magneto's holding him back the whole time, then he finally has this Dragon Ball Z moment with Iceman, which would have ended in a completely anticlimactic manner had Bobby not "iced out" and pwned his ass. They coul've spent more time at least letting him show off some power or something...but like I said, he's a tool, so there's really no way to "show off" Pyro.

As I stated previously about characters not being consistant with their previously established personalites. Magneto never would have, in any way, just sacrificed random mutants in his brotherhood to an army with anti-mutant serum. They are his brethren, his children, his soldiers. He is a mastermind and most definitly would've thought of a more elegant way to deal with the situation with specific mutants powers rather then send a bunch of them into the fray for sacrifice. I understand the plastic anti-mutant weapons came as a surprise to him, but he would've immediately come up with some sort of contigency. Or even better, just send in Pheonix to deal with the whole lot right off the bat? Wolverine cries like a bitch almost the whole movie and is only a shadow of the badass he once was. Prof X is a complete and total asshole the whole flick. Etc. etc.

I felt nothing when characters died. The Prof X death was slightly cool, if they had not foreshadowed his theory of conciousness transference (or whatever it was. I don't recall the exact words) only minutes before it actually happened. Then I may have thought, "wow. They actually killed Prof X." instead of "whatever...he'll be back. He said so himself."

I could go on and on, but that's about the bulk of my major scruples with this flick. Even for just the action, it was shoddy. Callisto only had really fast reflexes, btw folks. Not super speed or any of that other crap. She's pissed at Storm because Callisto (not having much of anything for mutant powers) challenged her to a hand to hand battle and Storm cheated. I kinda enjoyed seeing that little rivarly carry on even though in the movie continuity they have no history (plus it's fun to see Halle get her ass handed to her). Juggernaut saying his infamous "I'm the Juggernaut, BITCH" line was a little nervewracking for me. Though funny as an omage to an internet fanflick, it still was grating to think that they felt obligated to put it in there. LIke the movie was so incredibly lacking, that they had to pull something out of the scene to get a laugh. I won't lie. It made me chuckle, but only because I was remembering the video, not because he said it.

Slightly entertaining. About as much so as watching my facial hair grow in or new freckles appearing on my body. This trilogy was opposite of the Matrix thus far for me. I'll deny up and down that Matrix was a trilogy. It died to me after the 1st movie. X-Men did good for the 1st 2, then, for some reason, they never made a 3rd tongue Because what I saw wasn't X-Men. It was X....mutant....people....and bad guys....stuff.
