Didn't get into the fall classes I wanted. Next time I'll not underestimate how quickly they fill (nor how low on the totem pole those of us who already have degrees fall compared to 4 year students). Long term plans delayed, for at least a bit. On the plus side, this weekend is...

I'll be there, wearing a bit of SG swag at least one day I'm sure. 4 days of getting my geek on with 25,000 others. I think I'll hit more bands this year, and perhaps more movies. It's tough to schedule given just how much goes on at this thing. Mickey Rooney is going to be there, which is just bizarre. He's not exactly a big name in horror/sci-fi/fantasy, but he's an enduring symbol of Americana across Hollywood's golden, silver and graying years, and I hope to meet him (being a fan of old movies myself). And if I'm arrested for stalking Summer Glau, well, we all have our vices, yes?
Dreaming
This update's report comes courtesy of failed relationships. An email exchange with a lady of my heart's desire who abruptly canceled her engagement to a boyfriend of several years prompted discussion of my own fallout with a one-time fiance`. The following night, into morning, I dreamed that my ex had returned to me and I, senselessly, took her back without question. She immediately began planning our lives together while I sat wondering just what deterioration of my mind had prompted this choice on my part. Her manipulations and my confusion were reaching an apex when the aforementioned lady of my heart's desire (ironically, the reason for this bit of whimsy) called, breaking the spell. I laughed, probably sounded like a loon over the phone.
And so she and I got together for much of the day, and while it was a good bit of fun it seems both I and her current ex-fiance` may yet lose out to a third party. Irritating.
But I'll not go down without a fight!
