heh- sun ra, eh? now, i happen to love the guy (who wouldn't?), and under normal circumstances i would be happy to play a little, but it isn't technically my show. it's someone else's and he's just letting dj half of it. he doesn't care for that kind of jazz, and it would kind of clash with the feel of the rest of the show, you know? also, since i am only doing half of it (i.e. an hour and a half), time restraints force me to choose shorter songs in order for me to make the most of it!

Sorry to hear about your sick weekend. I too am a bit dissapointed in the lack of support for the Stereolab thread. No, I have not seen them. I really want to see them. In fact, I think they may have once done a tour with Tortoise. That would have been a heck of a show. I will have to catch them next time they hit NYC.

you really should listen to the rest of the album, especially since one of the songs, 'junebug' reminds me a little of stereolab. just a LITTLE- i'm not comparing the two, but perhaps the song was inspired by that same type of dreamy euro-pop...it also reminds me a little of kittycraft. the first song i heard by them was 'cryptic souls crew,' and old school hip-hop stylee song, which i love.
so, dust it off and take a listen, only this time 'clean out your ears and open your eyes'- a line from 'cryptic souls crew,' but it was also taken from the song 'jam on it, ' by newcleus.
