It feels like a Sunday night right now. It's actually 1am on Saturday night (Sunday morning), but it feels like a Sunday night to me...and I've never liked Sunday nights. Does anyone? The next day is Monday, your brief weekend has ended, and there's no delusions to be easily entertained about where you are, or who you are. I can get pretty reflective on Sunday...

hahaha....I don't have a membership card and hope they never give me one. I've never dreamed about the sit though, I don't think. I could probably describe the layout of the site to someone in exact detail though, which scares me. oh, and also, I can only see the colors pink and gray now.
-hmmmm....so you're looking for more of that independent, sort of "real life" comic black and white stuff? I think that most nerds would agree with me that if you're going to start getting into reading graphic novels, not trade paperback collections of comics, actual novels, you gotta start with "watchmen". it's a "modern classic" or something. it's actually quite good, and makes people who hate superheroes really get interested in superheroes. it's famouse enough that library's actually often have it to take out. big time book.

oh, now you're just saying that!wink

yes, i've certainly dreamt about the site...usually about checking my journal for posts [i'm a pathetic loser in need of constant affirmation...sigh...]. one time, after a particularly hard day, i dreamt that i was checking my journal, and there were nothing but mean, nasty posts in my journal.frown i've also had dreams about some of the girls and members. i've had a couple of really cute dreams about morgan. one was a dream where we got chocolate dipped ice cream cones at foster's freeze, and another where we were at some sort of beach boardwalk type of place eating cotton candy and saltwater taffy. those were happy dreams.smile

Last night I had a very vivid dream...about editing and proofreading something that I had written (I guess for school, it looked like a paper). Now, I don't remember what it was that I had written, not at all. I just corrected grammatical errors, adding and taking away periods and commas, etc. Just on and on, there were pages and pages. And...all the while, there...

i'm sure my other professional proofreading/editing friends have had dreams of that nature, and, since a couple of them are cute girls, i'm also sure they would be impressed by your proofreading skills!smile

you should be dreaming about meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!wink

ugh. i'm in a whiney mood. shoot me. now. please.
raven:
boards of canada? nope not heard of them. maybe i should check them out.
geez. that is the funniest dream ever. i always have dreams about my work which is i suppose close enough to having dreams about proofreading. its on the same level at least. like ill dream about scanning things and making graphs and drawing and making presentations.
alrighty. well have a nice night you proofreadin' stud you.

If I wasn't such a Luddite, I'd have a new profile pic by now. But no scanner + no digital camera = very old profile pic that looks like some actor's headshot. Sigh. All I want is to be like one of the cool kids who updates their profile pic every week (like Prudence!). Well--I need to do some borrowing...so soon, maybe soon, I will...

Formica, pt. 1:

she runs her fingertip over bumpy black text
etched on the newsprint
shes touched

her cold cereal pops and simmers
outside, the birds are quiet

dads fingers are gnarled,
they seem lived in
and as black as hers with stains

coffee waits, but its too hot
she shifts her bottom in the chair
and shields her eyes from the sunrise

on the lips, of course! sex DOES sitll exists, but now you have to sit on your knees and hold one hand up, like Barbarella did before she learned how to do it the old fashioned way.

"We were, the two of us, still fragmentary beings, just beginning to sense the prescence of an unexpected, to-be-acquired reality that would fill us and make us whole. We stood before a door we'd never seen before. The two of us alone, beneath a faintly flickering light, our hands tightly clasped together for a fleeting ten seconds of time."

yeah, there are always the people who have a large collection of CRAP, but even that doesn't bug me as much as the people who have little to nothing in their music collection. people who don't care about music, and who'll just listen to whatever's playing on the radio or mtv.

Quincy Troupe, the poet laureate of California, was recently found to have lied about having a college degree on his resume.

He's been teaching at UCSD for years, and before that, all kinds of prominent schools as well--without even a bachelor's degree.

Once this was found out, he immediately resigned as state poet laureate, and also there is also a movement to have him fired...

hehe. i think that your response in my journal is one of the best responses ive ever recieved- damn good advice too.
and geez. that is silly that should demote someone who is a good teacher just cause they dont have an almighty degree.
there is such a thing as self-education. truly educated and succesful people owe what they know more to what they learned on their own and from personal experience then from what they learned in a classroom.

It doesn't matter if a person is living on the streets or has a doctorate, if they can influence people to impact the world in a better way, that should be all the credentials that are required. To inspire passion is one of the most beautiful gifts humans can give one another. To deny that opportunity is a poor choice for the human race.

I've been so busy recently w/school and life. Haven't had much of a chance to participate in SG...except at weird hours like right now at 6am (it's the crack of dawn & the birds are chirping).

I met a girl recently who has some fetish over watching two boys make out with each other. She apparently *really* gets turned on by it. I like her,...

i LOVE watching boys make out. MMMMMMMMmmmm....

i also *REALLY* get turned on by it. so does Weernt. just ask her! it may be a fetish, but it's a pretty common one among girls. why are guys always so suprised by this? most guys get *really* turned on by watching 2 girls make out, right?

if you'd also like a 2-pager, you can always follow the advice i gave slightpressure...
suoda:
Yes, to be honest, I was always surprised to hear girls say they didn't like the idea of two guys making out. I am sure many of them do.

Pet peeve: how hard is it to return a call & speak for like two minutes, just to make a confirmation of plans? I'm getting tired of the phone-phobic in my little world. It's an outright epidemic.
suoda:
I KNOW! You are too right. It is an outright epidemic.

It's only a matter of time before my principles begin to wither like a long night leading towards dawn, until fresh light casts shadows of doubt behind my solid beliefs, until I see my ideas illuminated from a whole different angle. And then I'll be older, and supposedly wiser. But will it really just be yet another smug illusion?
