Im so happy!

Guess what I found on Ebay: a vintage, World War II British Mark VII gas mask bag! Now, if you know why thats cool, you rock! If not, well wink

Best part is the seller obviously didnt know the significance of the bag. If he had, he would have put it in the item description and gotten way more for it. But luckily for me he didnt!

Mwahahaha! biggrin

This week flew by pretty damn fast. Fine by me.

Im supposed to get together with me oldest, bestest buddy this weekend and go over his new script. Weve written a few comedies together in the past, which is why I was surprised when I read this one: one of the most fucked-up horror stories Ive ever read. And its fucked-up in the best possible way; not for simple shock or gore value, but a really disturbing story that makes you think.

At any rate, it was just weird that he would write something like this, as well, he tends to come off as rather vanilla Dont get me wrong, I say that as a fellow vanilla-ite

OK, maybe not vanilla. Im kinda Neapolitan; I have my moods. wink

Anyway, the main objective for this weekend is to see The Corpse Bride!

Which got me thinking about the first time I saw Nightmare Before Christmas. My friend and I were literally the only two people in the theatre. At the time I thought it was just indicative of the audiences in Nebraska, but no, that movie was a major flop at the time.

Its amazing how a loyal audience can elevate something out of relative obscurity, even to the point that now every year Disney redecorates the haunted Mansion in the style of Nightmare for the Holidays. The merchandising juggernaut is even more impressive.

Commenting on that fact, someone, I cant remember who, remarked that Walt was probably rolling over in his grave; Disney making a macabre flick about ghouls usurping Christmas. But look at the old Disney flicks: Theyre chocked-full of frightening imagery and unsettling turns. Its only recently that everythings gotten so mind-numbingly cute.

Sorry, but I just dont worship at the Temple of Nemo. Ill take Sleeping Beauty over any of the Pixar stuff any day. puke

Anyhoo, have a lovely weekend. smile
girly:
I think the Pixar stuff has it's place, but I definitely prefer classic Disney flicks. biggrin
