The boss is in the U.K. finalizing the deal for our next production, thus leaving me behind to tend shop. Me and the P.E. saw Land of The Dead on Saturday. Not bad, but far from brilliant. It was pretty clear that Romero was put on a short studio leash. The essential story was all Romero, what with its inherent social satire, but the tight pacing didnt allow for his usual brand of tangents. But such a critique could be interpreted as a positive or negative depending on your point of view. Whatever the case, it has a certain ironic 2001: A Zombie Odyssey quality, which was pretty amusing, so there ya go

2) That Tom and Oprah movie keeps speeding up as it loops, which makes me wonder how long I need to leave my browser window open before it will approach light speed - very funny;
and 3) that link sure seems like bullshit to me, but it was an interesting read. Good call.
As far as Batman goes, it's an extremely male affair. I agree it would have been much better to see Dent's backstory instead, but from a writing perspective I think it did need a female character to punctuate all the testosterone. I think they just picked the wrong actress - someone a little older and ballsier would have worked much, much better IMHO.
