Man-o-man I need a vacation after last weekend
It started out fairly quiet; just sat around drinking beers with the guys on Friday night. I remember that we were trying to formulate a plan of action, but the next thing I knew, it was after 2 A.M and we were all passed out around the TV.
I think we might have been abducted by aliens, cause no one really remembers when we all fell asleep; one second we were deciding on a bar, the next we were passed out. Yep, sounds like the work of little green men or something green, anyway
Anyway, the next day I headed down P.E.s neighborhood and we took her dog for a stroll on the beach. Its funny how all the dogs are so friendly at the beach. Its like they know that its their time. They get all excited when they see a new dog and do the friendly butt sniff and whatnot
I know its an old and overused topic of conversation, but what if people sniffed butt instead of shaking hands? Would the world be a better place for it?
Anyway, that night we went P.E.s bestest buddys 80s party. It was a bit unnerving as I was the only person there old enough to have any real recollection of the 80s. Luckily Ive got a baby face so none of the youngsters were given cause to point at the creepy old guy in the corner.
But yeah, P.E.s friend Betsie is an interesting character to say the least. She and her brother kind of remind you of Angelina Jolie and her brother; itd probably be a little creepy to any outsiders looking in.
So anyway, I was a VERY bad kid and ended up driving P.E. and her sister home at the end of the night. Bad idea. Way too drunk and in an unfamiliar area Thankfully the Spirit in the Sky saw fit to deliver us safely. Nonetheless, I feel compelled to punish myself for such reckless behavior. I may let P.E. take me to Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants or something
On second thought
Nah, thatd fall under cruel and unusual
Anyway, Sunday was all about nursing my hangover. Called the pops to wish him a happy Fathers Day and made sure his gift arrived. I sent him some granola from a bakery near where I live. I know that doesnt sound like an especially inspired gift, but he loves the stuff. He stocks up on it whenever he visits, so he was happy.
Oh, and I also got him a little die cast monorail from Disneyland. Ya see, hes often and I mean OFTEN recounted how much he wanted an electric monorail when he was little. Well, this one may not have been electric, but he still got a kick out of it.
I wanted to see Batman again, but it was sold out. So I settled for one more screening of Star Wars. Thats four times now. I figure Im good until it comes out on DVD
Or am I???
Finally, that night P.E. got to enjoy her birthday present: Rilo Kiley at the Wiltern. Good times and good music, but we were both still wiped out from the night before. I thought we were going to be standing on the floor, so I was actually kinda happy that we ended up with balcony seats; we could see the show and didnt have to stand on our feet.
Anyway, yeah, it was a big ol pain in the ass getting out of bed this morning. Hopefully Ill catch up on some sleep tonight
