While not exactly a restful weekend, it was a good one Mostly
Went over to some friends house on Friday night and proceeded to drink myself silly. As the night wore on, a couple of us went out back to my friends studio to listen to some stuff hed been working on. We were out of the main house for all of ten minutes at the most. Anyway, as we emerged from the studio, we noticed that the rain had REALLY picked up. And as we ran back inside, we found everyone missing And the police lights flashing through the window
It seems that in the space of ten minutes we missed a car accident that ended up taking out the fire hydrant right outside my friends doorstep. A few more feet and that car would have been in the living room. The suddenly intense rain was actually the water coming up from where the fire hydrant used to be.
Needless to say, this sudden, unexpected turn cast the rest of the evening in a kind of David Lynch light.
But after the fire department got the water shut off and we dispensed some towels, things calmed down.
For a while
The roomie and I decided that wed walk back to our place but stop off at a pub for one more on the way. Well, one more turned into three of four And well, they were Car Bombs... Everything after is a bit of a blur. All I know is that I became very adamant that, as we were in the neighborhood, we should go piss on the Writers Guild (allegedly). We then continued our stumble home, but were apparently picked up along the way by some of the roomys coworkers.
Anyway, she got us home, but not before I managed to fall on my ass. At least thats the explanation I was given for my sore buttocks the next day.
Yeah, so Saturday was pretty much me groaning
Finally on Sunday, PERHAPSEVIL and I went to the happiest place on Earth. And I learned that even in the midst of a tropical downpour, it is still the happiest place on Earth. Ive done rainy days before, but this one definitely took the fortitude of diehard geeks to survive.
Evil earned big points for knowing that the Jungle Boat Cruise is better in the rain
The big pisser was that the Haunted Mansion was closed. It looked like they were still taking down the Nightmare Before Christmas stuff. Dang Bastages! And Evil actually got me to go on Its a Small World. All I can think when Im on that ride is, well, they cant all be homeruns, Walt. Oh, and they had one of those nifty things at Innoventions that shows you what youll look like when youre older I learned that I am slowly morphing into my father. Scary
So yeah, good weekend overall; a healthy mixture of the interesting, the exiting and the unexpected.
