OK... I'm back! And in mostly one piece. I did leave a bit of my front tooth and some skin cells back on the Island, but it's nothing that won't heal or can't be repaired.
So it was Thursday night. I'd just had dinner with the parents and decided to go hang out at my favorite dive bar. I sat quietly drinking my drinks, watching the TV and listening to the music. She sat down next to me; one of the islanders, probably in her forties. We talked a bit and proceeded to drink way too much. A pair of schmucks became angry that she was talking to me and tried to start a fight. Then I stood up and the height differential seemed to calm them down.
She asked if I'd walk her home. I olbliged. We rounded the corner, she stuck her tongue down my throat. We proceeded to stumble about in a drunken maul session. Somehow got lost... and then she tripped... taking me down with her... Straight down on my face.
She appologized profusely as, bloodied, I still managed to get her home. She made an offer... I don't know if it was the pain or that sobering rush of addrenaline that made me think twice... But I decided to call it a night.
And as I walked back to the hotel I found myself thinking that I kinda wish I had gotten into a fight. It would have been far easier to explain my battered appearance as the result of a brawl...
Nonetheless, it was a memorable evening.
The rest of the weekend was pretty typical. I just sat around and read my comic books in the sun... as the parents and their friends laughed at my hideous face.
Anyhoo, I'll be seeing the dentist at some point this week. The fronty'll be needing a bit of composite, and I've got a mollar which is a tad ouchy.
