D-Day: 6 JUN 1944
69 years ago today, brave men stormed the beaches of Normandy. Although the Nazi's had the high ground and heavy fire power, they still fell to these men that faced them head-on. The brave men and women that served in the Allied forces are known as the greatest generation. They have most certainly earned this title! As a soldier, it makes me feel great to serve in the same armed forces as these men and women. I absolutely understand that many people oppose war and conflict. I'm not saying that I'm pro-war, but I do believe that the men and women that serve in the armed forces deserve a little thank you from time to time. We are the ones that fight for the freedoms that we were given, and that many people take for granted each day. Without the brave men and women that are willing to volunteer to go to places that normal people wouldn't want to go, and to do things that normal people wouldn't want to do, our freedoms that we enjoy would not exist. A little "thank you" goes a long way, and does more than you think!
