yesterday was tiiiiiiight. okay, started the day with an iced tea and a spicy tuna pastry from panya, the best japanese bakery ever. the tuna pastry was delish. there was a slab of nori on top which i peeled off and ate in one fell swoop and then finished off the pastry in a few ravenous bites as i walked down 2nd ave. i headed...

im....speechless. you really know your chicken!
takora:
i get it at the deli on first avenue at 2nd/3rd streets.
it's right in front of the juice chiller directly opposite the deli counter.
there are also peach, passionfruit, and other flavors... no pomegranate, though, sadly.
jason recommended mixing it with selzer.
i went and had a (spicy) tuna pastry today, after reading about yours.
yum! but next time i think you should try leaving the nori on--
it's a nice little snappy *crunch* with each bite...

the eating was not so good today. i had a meeting in times square and didn't have time for lunch. i got there early so i bought a bunch of baby bananas from the bodega and ate about four of them while i waited. an hour later i ate two more waiting for the train downtown. got home and drank a liter of diet coke...

today was hardcore: green tea with soy milk at news cafe, salad with baby spinach, mushrooms, sesame seeds and carrots at home, chinese noodle soup with bean thread noodles and tofu in the afternoon, dinner in brooklyn: corn from new jersey, chinese broccoli, pasta with homemade sauce-lots of garlic, stir fried shrimp, and between the three of us we finished a bottle of wine in...

jersey corn is fukkin good! this crazy pcp'd-out blind farmer landlord used to deliver some silver queen(?) to a tugboat on the hudson that my pal rented. he lived in the converted smoke stack. it sank.
tib0r:
1. jersey corn IS good. so are jersey tomatoes. that makes three things i love about jersey: the corn, the tomatos, and the thrift stores.

2. you may miss your NY apartment but i bet you don't miss paying NY rent!

yesterday: two cups of green tea with soy milk and maple syrup, tofu with ginger, garlic and cilantro, steamed broccoli, grape juice, a beer and a tomato.

it's not rainy today. it's sunny and warm and it's about time. last night i went out and i had to wear a jacket. a jacket! in september! my bicycle seat is probably soaked so i'll get wet-butt...

i'm like, perpetually hungry or maybe PMSing? i don't know. but yesterday i ate: 4 huge slices of bruschetta, a big old pile of sweet potato fries, a plate of fried rice that B. made and soba noodles with vegan pesto on top. oh, and i think i actually finished a bag of those sesame sticks i got from the health food store. i wasn't...

........reading michelle tea's "the chelsea whistle" which is fuckin good, a childhood memoir of dirty new england streets.

........i was walking around times square last night with my headphones on and everything was so cinematic. old couples dancing in the street, little kids dragging dirty toys behind them, old men watching young women.

........i decided to write stories about smith's songs. girl afraid, that's an...

i wish it was still summer weather in new york. i don't want fall, even though it's usually my favorite season. this summer didn't have enough rooftops, didn't have enough exploration of forbidden spaces, no kissing in dangerous places. give me two more weeks and maybe i can make it happen.

i can't seem to tear myself away from this evil computer. though i did leave for a few hours today to have lunch with P at a cafe by tomkins. sexiest boys around town ever: nelly look alikes complete with bandana/cap combo, tighty wife beater and a few gold ropes with medallions is hott.

i'm exhausted...up until nearly 6am last night, insomnia got me again. a lot of sadness this weekend, another summer of doom. trying to find a way out of it. b made vegan chocolate pudding last night and i made tofu quesadillas. and i'm not even a vegetarian.

w took me to the guggenheim today and we got in for free with his conde nast pass. we went to see the moving pictures show which had a lot of good stuff; nan goldin, felix gonzales-torres, and kara walker.

my favorite piece was a video installation by patti chang. two monitors showed two videos. one was footage of the artist french kissing her mother....

another sweltering new york day. my new favorite activity at night is sitting under the brooklyn bridge with a 20 ounce of cheap beer, watching the boats and the people walking by.
