this last week my life has been good and bad
on and off
sober, drunk and hungover
my parents decided to pay me a visit the other night which was more bitter than sweet. it's easy for me to say that they don't bother me when they're at a distance, but when we actually spend time together, it usually does nothing more than prove that we just don't get along.
all i've ever wanted from them is to treat me like an adult, and if this is how they treat other adults who have differing opinions and lifestyles, then so be it.
at least they seem to be making up for our lack of genuine relationship with gifts of food and other items. some people don't even have that.
either way, thank god that's over and it'll be a few more weeks before i have to see them again.
i've been feeling more neutral lately. this isn't necessarily bad, but could be the first sign of bad things to come. this can really be a hard time of year for me.
i, however, have been making great strides in other areas.
i'm almost 100% non-confrontational when it comes to some people. especially my friends, everyone else beware, but i prefer not fighting with my friends which can be bad. sometimes i get traipsed upon and get all bitter over it, but it usually blows over before i ever work up the gumption to say something about it.
here lately, i've gotten a lot better at telling people how their making me feel. granted, these aren't necessarily the most comfortable of conversations but i'm feeling better for having had them. *phew*
