Two scientists building the robot. Both haunted by a past that has left them on an emotional island. Making them distant and cold (robotic) with others and each other. But through working on the robot together, they come to learn love again and show their humanity.
Then the robot destroys them out of jealousy. Or perhaps it would be more tragic if the robot just destroys them for no real reason? Or by some chance the robot has emotions (instead of by design), and destroys them for creating him knowing it will never be able to have what they have.
hmm.
did you end up getting a few beers, too? it seems like beer is all i do when i'm in portland.
