Yesterday was surreal. I saw so many people I haven't seen in a long ass time. I saw my Dad, max my dog (literally, he's my dog, not my dawg, though i could consider him that too...) and then my friend's Dad turned 50, so he had a big birthday party in Midlothian for him, so it was cool to see the whole family. Sitting and talking with them really made me happy, when I hung out with him and his family, I was probably the happiest I've ever been, and I had that feeling last night. I haven't seen most of those people in like 2 or 3 years, so it really felt good. I was talking with his girlfriend, and it really made me realize how long it's been since i saw any of them, because he's been with her a year, and it was my first time meeting her.

I need to start paying attention to the people that I used to spend all of my time with, instead of trying to meet all kinds of new people, because every one of them welcomed me with open arms, even though I haven't seen or talked to any of them in so long. It was kind of symbolic to me, because last night if i was still in the band there would have been a show, right down the street, but I was at the party instead. So in the same night i put my relationship with those people to rest, i spent my time with the people i belonged with, my friends.

I like that. Meeting new people is fun (sometimes), but I think it's important to keep in touch with (old) friends.

I think I need to make some calls....

curiosity:
Recording at a place called Soto Sound in Palatine. That's where I did the three tracks on my website. It's a pretty sweet setup, actually, and the rates are as low as I could find them. They have a website at www.sotosound.com.
