I have a seriously large family...... and its hard going to family partys (which suck anyhow) and then having to debate 35 people with 5 people on your side. Dont get me wrong, I tore them apart. I have no problem ripping them apart. ( My favorite argument tonight came from my Aunt Katy, who is a Born Again Christian, and voting for George Bush, (mainly because he is "Born-Again") SO I ripped into her, on how she can call him a Christian, and How as Christian she can vote for Bush, when he KILLS INNOCENT PEOPLE. THOU SHALT NOT KILL I dont know what part of that she didnt understand. Dont get me wrong, I am a Christian myself, and am more than willing to tell you that. Her Arguments were ridiculous too She kept trying to make scenarios that I "Could relate too"
Scenario #1 (discussing why we attacked Iraq)
She said, what if there was a Bully down the street who threaten to beat up a 4y/o on the block. And he has done it 15 times before. She asked what I would do about it. And my Response "Well I Wouldn't Invade his House and start shooting hoping to kill him." She made a comment about that, but it was irrelivent anyways.
Scenario#2 (The Weapons of Mass Destruction)
She said, and this is a quote "Say you had a hydroponic system in your basement and you were growing...... Marijuana. And the Cops told you they were coming on this date at this time. what would you do with it?"
Dan Says: "Burn It?, Throw it away? Smoke it?"
Aunt Kathy says: "........ooooorrr Give it to a Neighbor?"
Dan Says: "No"
Then the whole Christian Situation came up. and because I played the "Good Christian" Card on her, she tried to turn it around and say that Kerry voted FOR Partial Birth Abortions, when he actually didnt vote at all on it.
