DAY 7: A picture of your most treasured item.
Well, the wubba goes without saying:
This is Alexander with my dog Janks...I got Janks as a birthday present when I turned 7...so he is now deaf, blind, with various skin and intestinal problems...but he is still my puppy and i love him. He is 17 years old and still movin' so...gotta love him despite the old man stink
And, just to prove that i wasn't lying about the baby blanket thing; I introduce to you: BUBBIE!
When my mother got him as a baby shower gift for me, he was bright canary yellow with red stitching and a romper room scene on the front. Now he is this knotted grey thing with barely any stuffing. I have to hand wash him because he would disintegrate in the washer at this point. It sounds really cheesy but, it's the smell of the blanket that comforts me. I've never put much stock into the places I live...but he has always been there, and he never complains when I cry, he just dries my tears and smells like the only home I've ever known...me and my bed. now the hubby and wubba smells are mixed in, but i've gotten used to it, and it smells all the more like home now. Alright
now you know my deepest secret: I still sleep with a baby blanket because its smell comforts me, and I even refer to Bubbie as "him" because he means so much to me. In high school, my friends hid him and held him hostage until i threatened to kill them all. i was drunk and they hid him in the freezer under frozen meat. I even cried lol-jeez, I'm such a chick
but at least i'm not afraid to admit my childish side!
