Why Crystalline Dreamcatchers?
We all know that dreamcatchers are made to keep nightmares away. The bad dreams are said to be caught in the thread/net; the bead (or beads, in this case) represents the spider in the web (I figure, the more spiders to eat bad dreams, the better
); and all the wonderful dreams are said to pass through the center of the web. Plagued with nightmares since I was a child, dreamcatchers have always held a special place in my heart- as have crystals.
When I was a little girl, I was fascinated with what I then referred to as, "pretty rocks." They always made me feel happy- sparkling treasures that I valued as if they were more precious than diamonds. Around the time when I became pregnant with my son, I started to explore the meaning and uses of crystals...it was then that I started my own collection and began to experience firsthand how beneficial their energies were.
Significance of this Dreamcatcher:
A strong metal ring outlines the web of this dreamcatcher and is wrapped with Superior Suede Lace. I use wax thread for added strength to weave the web itself, and genuine semi-precious crystals for the beading.
For this particular item, I used three stones which combine beautifully both in color and in their beneficial properties: Citrine (yellow/gold chips), Garnet (deep red chips), and Red Tiger's Eye (banded red and black, round beads).
Citrine: manifestation, personal will, mental clarity, creativity.
combines the energy of the mind with one's personal will; aids in perceiving issues of power use, boundaries, and manifestation; stimulates the mind; assists in learning; aids in bringing about optimism, playfulness and happiness in one's life; helps one in facing difficult situations; helpful for digestive issues and metabolism; supports weight loss and increased energy during exercise.
Red Tiger's Eye:libido, perception, internal conflicts, willfulness, emotional balance.
carries the generic traits of Tiger's Eye as well as helping one to overcome lethargy; provides motivation; speeds up the metabolism and increases libido; can be used to enhance the flow of Qi. Tiger's Eye is a protective stone; draws spiritual energies to earth; heals mental disease and personality disorders; facilitates assertion and recognition one's own talents and faults so that they may be overcome; supports addictive personalities and integrity; assists in accomplishing goals and differentiating between wishful thinking and actual need.
Garnet: creativity, sexuality, attraction.
carries the energy of prosperity/ enjoyment of worldly pleasures; good for grounding one's dreams and desires in the physical domain; stabilizing stone that bestows vitality and charisma; promotes excellent quality of life; unites creative forces within oneself; links groundedness with wisdom.
