have you ever had moments when you recognize the balance between the enormity of the universe and the relative smallness of one's own life? i cannot believe where i have ended up. i think of the small, mean existence i had and how much it has changed and i marvel at my good fortune. i also recognize that it is more than just luck because i have worked really hard to be here, but surely there is more to it. is there a grand design, i wonder.
