I hope it is - I can't even masturbate anymore. Thinking of sex makes me think of her.

Did that happen to you, too?

the woman felt intense pain. it came, not from the weight on her chest, but from her soul. in that moment she realized that he whom she loved was gone and the person he had become was assaulting her. in that moment of clarity she knew she was now in a fight for her own survival. she contemplated her options and realized that she was...

You're invisible?

Like that episode where Spock had to speed his metabolism up so fast that he became invisible?

I am a big fan of short hair

i used to wear my hair short. not quite a brush cut, but close. i stopped cutting it that short after i had a bad hair cut and two people told me (in one day) that i looked like mr. spock. i am, clearly, too tired to be writing in this venue. smile

i struggle with the notion of identity.

who am i? i cry into the cosmos. no answer, is the stern reply. and i dance on the temporal tightrope, vaguely knowing who i was, and now, at last, knowing who i want to be, but the elusive "i", in the moment, is impossible to know.

lyrics of songs with forgotten tunes ripple through my mind and...

sometimes i catch myself looking at my life as a metaphor for being. can we ever share who we are?

They can't, and you won't.
You have to open yourself up to a lot of potential pain in order for someone to know you.
The truth is though, that the anticipation of that hurt is much worse than the actual result of your openness. This anticipation can last years, however, the things that we wait for, whether they be good or bad only last an instant. Besides, the only way to know much joy in life is to open one's self to much sorrow. That is the way of things...

Thanks for always being there with something positive to say to me.

You do not know how much I appreciate you.

roguestenography:
its kind of like that book the Bret easton Ellis rules of attraction - the biggest mistake in trying to understand someone that anyone can make, is believing that you do.

Also I'll be level theres a song by my favourite band called a new name for everything, and in the lyric book a quote from Berger that goes, "for us to live and die properly, things have to be named properly, let us reclaim our words" (John Berger.)
roguestenography:
They're called the weakerthans (name taken from, "honey, I'm much weaker than you can imagine," which is... uh.. damn... I can't recall whose quote.)

But they're brilliant. One of the few bands who can sing a song from a cats point of view without pretention.

One of thier slower songs

the furnace is not working. it is 56 F or 13 C in my house.

edited to add that the gas company came and got the furnace going. it is a loose wire which is part of a component. he said it might last for 10 years, it might last for a week. it makes me appreciate heat. smile

what is courage, i wonder? how is it different from fearlessness?

what does it mean to believe there is no choice? is that ever true?

the moment i jumped off of it was the moment i touched down. Alanis Morrisette

kundalini:
Certainly there shouldn't be any fear when I walk to the 'fridge to get a glass of soy milk, but I hardly consider that fearlessness. In purely psychological terms, it would require a near miracle for one to overcome a phobia without significant outside assistance. I would then consider overcoming a phobia to be courageous, certainly some of that original fear would be in the pit of the stomach, making true fearlessness impossible in a literal sense.
danaide:
Courage means you know that there are repercusions/consequences and still do it,
fearlessness means you don't care.

There is always a bit of choice.
It's in how you respond .
