I'm thinking of bugging out.
I mean it.
I have the opportunity to build a house out in farmland, for free.
And I'm thinking of doing it. Building in solar panels, couple of wind generators.
Moving as much off the grid as I can; heating the place with a central stone chimney that will trap and radiate heat - wood stove for cooking and hot water, natural light.
In other words, if the grid goes down, I don't want to notice, except when the Internet no longer works.
Oh, I'll come into town, to play music.
But I think I'll just hunker down somewhere and live the rest of life out.

ha ha ha. When I was in CA a few years ago, I went to a "green home fair" in Berkley. I actually learned quite a bit.
