WIth no days off since the 16th except for Christmas day, my mind is begining to trip out. No other time off until this weekend, but it will be a work weekend setting up trade show exhibits for clients, 13 in two days over seeing 30 guys with my business partner. Ugh. Why is it that the older you get, the more complicated life is?...

Yeah, I helped somebody with that profile pic one time. It was a bitch. Then again I don't know anything about computers, haha.
Forget your troubles, c'mon get happy.......

T'was the night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
Not a person was sober,
Not even my pet mouse!

The Computer was on,
all warm and bright,
while I scanned the internet,
visiting SG's site.

Reading Journals and sending notes,
to all my favorite SG ladies,
who cares if there's nude pictures,
I'm already going to Hades!

Suddenly in the living room,
there arose...

Heheh. Glad you liked my stupid poem. Yours wasn't half bad either. ^_^ Isn't Chuang-tzu a mind phuck? I find it a bit more accessible than the Tao-te-ching so perhaps it's a good introduction to the concepts that are explained more esoterically in poetic form. Let me tell you that stuff has given me the means to save my own life on more than one occasion.

In celebration of the winter solstice, I got my next tattoo that I had been designing and thinking about for a year. My shoulder is thobing right now and the crusting has already begun. My mom was in town for the holidays so we went together and she got one to. A mother and son outting. She's such a nut anyway - tattoo artist thought...

Damn, I wish my mom was that cool!

She's like a big sister than a mother. She even brings all her prospective boyfriends over to see if I approve. We won't even go into how much a nut my father is! I think I need therapy. lol

What is it about the eyes of certain women? The ones that stare through you, taunting - knowing your very soul as if you didn't have it hidden behind 2 tons of cement wall, steel girders, and lead coating?

Their eyes can be the deepest blue, the most bliss full green, or senuous brown - it doesn't matter. The eyes of any woman, if they...

My mind is blank - too much work today. So much so that the days are speeding by and life still remains to be lived. Unfortunately, you can't do much living behind a desk in front of a computer all day. I'm envious of those who go to school and complain of papers due, or tests to be taken - I long for those days...

The winter months always bring me down - very difficult to stay focused on the positive. Loneliness and doubt always knocking at the door, winds of cruel intentions swirling around me, and the list of friends to hang out with seems to get shorter and shorter.

Maybe I'm just not getting enough sunlight so I start to go a bit stir crazy. Stuck in an...

i have always found a certain joy of life in the winter. the increased darkness offers so much more potential then the constrained reality of daylight. the cold makes me aware of every part of my body, sharpens my senses, and makes me feel more alive. snow coats the world and for a little while gilds the world and makes it a place of faerie tale beauty and wonder. the Unseelie hold sway over the courts and their sly mechinations encourage us to seek out compainionship around the warmth of a fire, or a coffee cup.
as for offices, i have found that after a certain amount of time, the institutional white and rounded corners of my office cause me to hallucinate and allow me to escape from the drab lifeless place to somewhere much more fulfilling in my head. muses are hard to find... but if you do find one would you be willing to share? too many stories and not enough time to tell them all.

As for being stuck in an office - I have to clarify: I've made it my own home, so I am surrounded by a good flowing chi (my partner and I made sure we designed the space keeping everything in compliance with Fung Shui).
I just don't like being inside all day - I need to get out and soak up the sun's rays like today. 68 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Think I'll go for a walk......

I shouldn't try writting so late at night. I had a story about my inner child being lost then found again, but then totaly spaced it when I started to think about the amount of work I have to do this week.

I worked so hard for so long to become a self-supporting adult at too early an age and never gave that inner child...

I think I work too much. It's supposed to be a day of relaxing, no stress, just get the batteries re-charged and instead I'm worn out, and just want to sleep.

Then the weekday starts up again and it's like I'm on caffine doing 11 - 12 hour days. I think I need to take a vaction to Oregon.....seems there are some very interesting and...

Have you ever read Chuang Tzu? In case you haven't, he was a taoist philosopher who came later than the mythical Lao Tzu and unlike the old master, his existence as a real person has been verified. Anyhoo, He had a very down to earth approach to the way. His writings show such a sparkling, dry with that I found myself laughing out loud as I read. It's much less esoteric than the Tao Te Ching and helped me gain a lot of insight into the meaning of some of the more obscure passages in there. "You may know the entire world without even looking out the window." That right there is it in a nutshell and it's the source of my pain right now. Thanks for your concern I'm feeling a little better today but it may take some time to resolve this. Seems I've forced a confrontation with myself and I have to choose what I am to be. Le *Siiiiigh* I find diet Mountain Dew is a good dietary source of the essential nutrient caffeine. Maybe I'll see you around?
lionboy:
It's a little known fact that Dr. Pepper has caffeine in it. That's probably why it works s'dern well. Yep Chuang-tzu is amazing! I love his stuff. Trumpet is my poison of choice.

I don't know if this poem is too mushy for this site, but seems we bare all here at SG so why not? We all need someone to call friend, and I was fortunate enough to find someone that inspired this next bit:

I saw you walking in the garden
Where you walked without fear;
picking flowers whoe petals glistened
with dew drops like fallen...

the problem with hallmark is that they destroyed the common mans attempts to be romantic by making it cliche. i find that whatever suits your mood when you write it is best. poetry is about expression really, not about form.

I came across an attempt to write a song for a siren that still has my heart (damn my addiction to women!) brought on by the pain the holidays can bring - what fun - let's share!:

Full moon rising,
my heart is crying
for her embrace
so satisfying.

Shout my pain
to the sky above,
raise a fist;
society - I defy thee.

Through...
