It looks like I've got a better lead re. the whereabouts of my birth mother. The first US Search person told me she only had addresses in OK or NC, and that didn't seem right, but I sent letters out anyway. Correct name and age, but odd locations. I called them back when the NC letter got returned to me, and the woman huffed at the incompetence of the first worker and gave me a (more plausible) CA addy. I'm going to hand write a letter, but don't yet know what I'm going to say. The one I sent to the other addresses was neatly typed out on the puter with lots of names and dates, but I'm wondering if I should revise it, make it raw and real, or, conversely, keep it short and to the point. As it stands, it's factual, but not sterile, but I could take it further.
