do i believe in the midlife crisis? well i have seen people of all ages act fuckin nuts.

but there is a set of symptoms, a syndrome if you like,

of people dealing with stress,

boredom,

delayed gratification,

nihilism,

lack of spiritual center in a narcissistic consumer culture

that makes them do and buy stupid shit.


so i have seen extreme cases (guys my age leaving the kids and partner for a youngin, motorcycle and hair plugs)

and i recognize the low grade fever in me


part of being me is seeing myself in all things great and small

and feeling part of madness and calm i see in others


i just don't feel that different from a person shooting smack and leaving the world behind

or someone selling pepsi to another generation of kids so they can buy a bigger penis, i mean car



tales of ordinary madness

my syndrome is mild, but undeniable


and that is just one of the many reasons i look forward to burning man
