I don't know why "green" companies make it so inconvenient to use their products.

We have a dog; ergo, we use dozens of little plastic bags a week for poop disposal. It really bothers me that we are essentially sealing shit in a plastic bag to be preserved for all time. Especially because the use of disposable plastic results in mermaid tears disrupting the marine ecosystem.

So I thought hey, let's try compostable baggies. They are twice as expensive as plastic bags but that is okay.

Now, normal plastic shit bags come in a standardized roll size, to fit in those little roll-holders you can attach to your leash. They have a little spindle inside to make them unroll easily.

For some unfathomable reason the eco-friendly compostable baggies not only don't have the little spindle, they are also rolled way too wide for the standard roll-holder, and they don't sell their own roll holder. So the options are I guess just carrying around the roll, which kind of negates the purpose of them even being rolled up, or re-rolling it to fit in the standard poop baggy carrying device. Which is what I did this morning.

I just don't get it. Why not just make the product fit easily into the accessory already in use? Same with recycled paper towels - surely they could be made as thick and absorbent as normal paper towels, yet they are always thin and pathetic. Why? Why punish your customers? Is the assumption that environmentally-conscious people will put up with inconvenience because they are trying to be virtuous?

So stupid.
