I was looking at our bedroom and became dissatisfied with my makeup storage. I have kept my makeup in the same Caboodle for the last 15 years.

I got this pink and lavender Caboodle in 5th grade, before I even started wearing makeup. In 7th or 8th grade I started writing song lyrics on it with Sharpie. I've kept it all these years, partly from intertia and partly from nostalgia. It's been a long time since my primary form of self expression was Sharpieing Misfits lyrics on various personal possessions.

I think I am ready to not be an adolescent anymore. My dude bought this train case for me on Ebay, and that is where I will keep my makeup henceforth. It is pretty and looks attractive among my other things. I want to have pretty things and not just keep objects around me because they've served me for so long.


I want to look around me and see myself as I am now, not all the ghosts of my entire upbringing lodged in every object. I want the luxury of getting rid of ugly things. Perhaps it's materialistic but the objects around me are important to my feelings.
