No matter how awesome my life is, winter is still depressing as fuck. I guess I should just accept it instead of trying to be as epic as I am in summer.

What did you get for Christmas or the winter gift giving occasion you prefer? My mom and dad gave me a bottle of Michael Collins, the dude got me white Wayfarers (
), and his mom got me these amazing gold Indian bangles.
I love seeing my brother's kids. Two of my nephews have become teenage hipsters straight out of an M.I.A. or Cobra Starship video - big nerd glasses, shag hairdos, neon clothes. So cute. I don't know where it comes from because as far as I can tell everyone else in my home town listens to either Toby Keith or 50 Cent exclusively.
Right now I'm watching Fargo and sorta thinking about grad school applications. Fargo remains a brilliant, hilarious movie. Grad school applications remain tedious but necessary. Current front runner in my affections: USF (San Francisco, not South Florida as Google may have you believe.)

I made stops at Homestead and Pop's last week on my one night in the city escaping from suburban holiday chaos. Those two places would be the death of me if I lived back there.
