Adam and I got sushi tonight and one of the rolls had tempura bacon. It was delicious. But also kind of like a deep fried Twinkie in concept. Deep fried Twinkies are really gloriously amazing for two bites and then you're like... ugh I am eating a deep fried Twinkie.
Apparently I am into inappropriate deep fried foods.
I read Judy Blume's Forever for the first time today. I had heard a lot about it, how revolutionary it was when it came out, and how it's been banned. It was good, and a lot more honest and realistic than your Gossip Girl (although I love the Gossip Girl books) and other forms of entertainment/ cultural dialogue about sex targeted at teens today. It doesn't seem like there are any books like this for guys, which is sad. I would think teenage boys would need an honest voice telling them what sex is like for the first time as much as girls do. Boys have kind of disappeared from culture, as though we are ashamed of them. I wish my teenage nephews had role models they could actually see themselves in instead of Max Payne and Chris Tucker.
I mean seriously, what are some shows or movies that realistically portray teenage boys that teenage boys might want to watch?

These are literally the only books I could think of that are a relatively accurate representation of awkward male adolescence.
