I cried my first night in North Carolina. Bawled like you wouldnt believe. I tried so hard to be quiet, so I wouldnt wake up Danny, but he was dead to the world. He had been up for 36 hours and wasnt waking up for anything. Not even my sobbing.

They were good tears, if youll believe it. They were tears of complete clearness of the next step I would be taking in my life.

I loved it there. I loved him. I just cried because I knew the next few months would be the last of being able to see my family whenever I wanted to.
