Little black kitty totally made my day today.
I was leaving to go to Target, and walking through my apt. complex on the way to the parking lot. Little black kitty was sitting on the grass with her friend, a new black kitty (but with longer hair. For future reference I call him "O.B." for Other BlackKitty)) that's still very skittish and runs away when I come near. But black kitty kept still, and when I crouched down to approach her, just ran over to me and started rubbing against my feet. I put down my keys and started giving her a serious two handed head and neck scritching. She loved it. She actually jumped up and sat on my thigh as a sat there on the sidewalk petting this purring wiggling little critter. I was so happy that I bought her and her friend some kitty treats at the store so the next time I see them I can return the favor.
Little things like that can just pick you up out of nowhere...

Ok, I've never read it but only quotes ...
The cat yawned slowly, carefully, revealing a mouth and tongue of astounding pinkness. "Cats don't have names," it said.
"No?" said Coraline.
"No," said the cat. "Now, you people have names. That's because you don't know who you are. We know who we are, so we don't need names."
