No booze tonight. No anything tonight, gotta take it easy. Went with my sister to her church to give blood. I have a rare blood type (B-) something like .5% of the American population has it, so the blood drives jump up and down when they get a needle in me. Damn needles are the size of a toothpick, but on the cool side, I got a black bandage wrapped around my arm.
The drive was for some kind of children's hospital, so the nurses were really skilled at taking blood gently. I used to go to the Red Cross, but the blood techs were often volunteer Army medics. Yay for them for helping out, but they were often too 'quick and sloppy' jamming that needle in. i once had them poke into a vein, out of the back of the vein, and into another vein that they left it in to get the blood. I had a huge disgusting dark bruise / welt on that arm, and it was useless for days. Now I give at the Blood Centers of the Pacific while at home, but I wanted to go with my sister while I was here.
Not too exciting, but made me feel like I did my good deed for the day.

Although if she hadn't been hit by a car, I would have spent the day at the park with her instead of inside missing her.
