Is it just me, or does it seem like the happier some people are, the less they write in a journal? Case in point, it's been over a week since my last entry, and I'm happy as a clam at high tide...
Lets see, last weekend I tried snowboarding for the first time, and fell in love with it! I've never been on skis either, and hadn't even SEEN snow since junior high. I grew up around beaches since my dad was in the Navy, so snow is just alien to me. The good news is snowboarding skills are pretty easy to pick up if you used to surf or skateboard, which I have. By the end of the day I was screaming down "intermediate" runs like a crazy person. I DID leave my face and ass prints all over that mountain though, once sliding about 15 feet on my chest and face. Shannon's dad lives in Tahoe, so we spent the weekend with them, and hit the snow all day Sunday. I have some $$ coming to me soon, and I think I just may be investing in some gear of my own, once the debts are paid first... The rental stuff fit horribly, and I know it'd be a lot more fun in more comfortable boots. Shannon's been skiing for 25 years, and snowboarding for 2, so I'll always have a partner to go with as long as things stay cool there.
On that note, Bliss! Sorry, happy doesn't make for as good of a story as sorrow, but I'm not complaining!
