borders has disappointed me. i felt the urgent need for a map this evening (i'm a cartographer at heart) and they were closed before 11 pm. i thought i could rely on borders to stay open until then, but corporate america said "fuck you, 37!"

i saw the shining tonight at a late night showing at a local theatre. there i happened to have my best movie-going experience ever. the first few times the scary twins are shown, these girls who were way up in the top row of the theatre (stadium seating) kept screaming. finally, on the third showing, one of the girls screamed and RAN down the stairs...
