Thanksgiving...came & went. I have (had) 4 days off, of which 1 & 1/2 are already spent...but well. Wednesday eve found me suffering from exhaustion, so i retired well before 9pm...fell asleep watching the history channel rather, only to rise again at 9am eager to begin my day. My decision to not return to NY for the holiday was an easy choice as i internally longed for warmth & a beach...and to visit an old friend, whom i hadn't seen in some time.
........more later this eve.....
Ok, so where were we? Ah, so plans were to have the dinner at my friend's parents home, and upon my arrival, everyone was well lit after several hours of champagne & wine. I walked into a very "open" gathering of people, all too eager to shuffle me towards their bar to participate. Though, i had quit drinking, & since it was a day of celebration, i did indulge in a few flutes of champagne. The whole experience was surreal because of how much that i felt at home. Maybe it was because I had begun the drive wearing my "pajamas", intending to change prior to the dinner. After arriving, i was immediately rushed off to the dinner, still in pajamas, mind you. So, yes, they were graced with my presence in an old t-shirt and Abercrombie cut-off sweat pants...wannabe dirty trendy, but no, completely unplanned. Fortunately, i think that they were too intoxicated to notice despite their highly fashionable garb. Keep in mind, this is the first time that i've ever met my friend's parents. They had heard so much about me in regards to how courteous, proper, & kind that i was....and here i roll up in the place, looking like i had just awoke with my tattoos blazin', hat on sideways, diamond earrings blingin'...lol. Parents always love me...then again, maybe it was just the alcohol.
....beach....i just feel like being alone right now....a nice long walk on the beach.
