the next two months are the most exhausting of my year. socially, mentally, emotionally, physically. my charity kicked off a little over a week ago. Beards BeCAUSE has commenced its 8th growing season.
i went clean shaven and will put down the razor until the second weekend in november to raise money for the local battered women's shelter and awareness of domestic violence. it is tiring for me, because not only do i run the charity and have to try and book and organize all the events, but i am put into a position to talk about domestic violence pretty much non-stop for the next two months.
this is not a puppy dogs and ice cream type of philanthropy. nobody is cured. it is a social ill.
this year, though, we have gotten the local on air personalities from the "rock" station to join the CAUSE. i am so stoked for it. this morning i got to go into the studio and record with them. such cool guys. the Woody and Wilcox Show will air my interview tomorrow (today, like in six hours) or Friday.
