Christmas Time

Even though I am Jewish, one cannot escape Christmas. Like a lot of American Jewish families, we have recognized the holiday minus the whole Jesus bit. I find that if done properly you can use this period to spend some quality time with the ones you love. Perhaps the best part of Christmas is that we cant let our guards down a bit and take a few emotional risks with people. I know its a depressing time for a lot of people, but it is actually one of the times when I am not so depressed. New Years is a different story, for a different blog. I think the secret to happiness period is to be able to enjoy where your at, and if thats impossible then change where youre at, and if thats impossible then make the best of it. Personally, my head has been in worse places, and so I am thankful for that. At this stage in my life honesty is not only required it is demanded, so the people in my life know they have to be real around me or their out. But that means I too must be honest, and be honest with myself. Not always an easy thing to do. Things did not work out the way I had hoped they would so it is time to make the best of it, and then move along down the roa.d
