It's been a busy couple of weeks. Not only has work been hectic, but I've also been planning for a few changes in my life. One of them was getting a new chinchilla.
About six years ago, I had gotten a chinchilla that I named Abberline. He was a goofy little fuzzball with a big heart. I had him for two years until he got sick and passed away due to respiratory failure. That was also a short time before I ended up homeless due to some illegal actions my landlord (and my ex, I found out) took to kick me out of the house. Now, I'm living with a couple of friends, working full time, and working on a comic, as well as my art. I decided to celebrate by getting another chinchilla, a sweet little kit named Lizzy Stride.
Day one was not easy. She somehow escaped her cage, and sent me into a panic. Fortunately, we found her on a stack of books in a storage area next to my room. After getting a new cage, she's finally begun to settle in. She's still nervous about being touched, but I'm working with her to make her as comfortable as possible.
I've also been working on some art work and getting some photo ideas. Since I'm on vacation, I should be able to get some done this week. But first, today I'm having a few people over to meet a family member I didn't know I had until a couple of weeks ago. That's a long story for later. For now, I must clean house, and make sure the puppy isn't too stressed!
