I was sitting outside the cafe when I saw two birds perched atop the building. One was a little bigger than the other, and was getting pretty friendly with the smaller one, rubbing its body awkwardly but familiarly against the smaller one. They started touching their beaks together, looking pretty affectionate. It started getting pretty hot and heavy, and it looked like they were making out.

"Aw," I thought.

And then I realized that adult birds tend to be the same size.

And on the heels of that realization, I saw the smaller one's head almost disappear into the beak of the bigger one's.

They were not love birds in love. The smaller bird - clearly able to fly on its own - was still feeding on the regurgitations of its parent.

So.. yeah. I'm only 26, and little pains in my body that hav been annoyances for years have started to keep me from being able to function. My knee, my shoulder, and my right thumb-nuckle in particularly.

I just recently saw a physical therapist who told me that my body is seriously fucked up, and the source of my "shoulder pain" is actually in my neck. She had me do some basic arm movements to get my range of motion, and when I told her that I felt tightness after barely moving my arm, she dropped the bomb that I am in for a world of hurt very soon. I was shocked at the extent of the damage from my previously active life that I forgot to tell her about the things I did to fuck my body up so bad. At first she asked me if I ever played little league. I said sure, but not for long. Then I told her that I played soccer pretty competively for almost ten years, and she clucked her tongue and scolded me for headding the ball, since that was no doubt a huge factor in my fucked up neck.

After some more talking, I "remembered" that I used to do tae kwon do and thus got several pretty hard blows to the head, followed by more tongue-clucking.

And after some more talking, I "remembered" that when I was playing basketball in gradeschool, I went up for a layup and ran into the un-padded pole so hard knocked myself out. Followed again by more tongue clucking.

She said a sentence, and then I interrupted her again, pointing to one of the indentations in my forehead and saying, "When I was three, a clock fell on my head."

Bypass the tongue-clucking, and straight to the shaking her head in disbelief.

You know, I think these things kinda explain a lot of things about me.

I'd put my hypothesis here, but I'm not trying to make it public knowledge. But what I said in my post is true: honesty, integrity, maintaining those at all costs is so important.
