It is vacation time starting tomorrow. I go to Tempe every year to help my wife's family with a charity golf tournament.
Her cousin died of heart disease, so her aunt and uncle put the college money to start a little charity 12 or so years ago.
Over the years it has grown into a 6 figure net $ raised every year. Unlike a lot...

That's really awesome of your family. Have fun!

Must ... seek ... coffee! Ha!

Well, did you have a good time? I surprisingly did not come back to much work either (although I have managed to get behind again already but it is just the nature of the high-tech industry). More surprisingly, no one had tried to get on my computer for anything. Will wonders never cease?

I had forgotten just how short I really am in flat shoes until I saw the picture of me standing next to nolefdetnaw in your journal. Note to self: Buy more stripper shoes! biggrin

Okay, I found an apartment. Just keep ticking things off the list. It is in the ghetto. I don't want to raise a sissy so this should be great. I noticed that while there are a lot of children for him to play with here, a disproportionate number of them are girls about 1 year older. Yep, he's doomed. biggrin

What a relief, though. It's bigger, it's kind of cute ... I'm happy. smile
malloryknoxx:
Awwww - yayyy!! I'm glad you guys met up and had fun biggrin

Ack - Yager. I canNOT even smell the stuff.

But anyway - things are going pretty well. I'm really digging running around checking out the new neighborhood and stuff biggrin And I'm even being good and steering clear of Sunset Plaza's little boutiques! Yes - I admit it. I'm a big clothes whore and the shops there are full of ALL my fave designers.
I guess it's actually good that the prices there are enough to make your eyes water - keeps me from buying anything tongue

So how are thing with you??

My journal is back......I don't know what it was but I sent 1 picture by phone and somehow got a copy sent 20 or so different times.....Weird.......

It is damn near summertime here. Sunny and 70's for 3 more days....

Must be the fact that Suzy_Kabloozy is in town. I could not meet her last night cause of parental duties but I am hoping that her and Nolefdetnaw decided to stay here so I can meet them tonight. I talked with her on the phone and she is a sweetheart and has...

Ack!!!! Yah - gas prices are friggin' INSANE. The cheapest around here is $2.63 a gallon.
*shrieks*

Let me just say - you think it's bad that you'll be singing that song all day? It goes through my head EVERY time we're walking....in...LA. biggrin biggrin biggrin
Go figure.

But yeah - we're having a blast over here. I really, REALLY love this city. I've already seen more sunshine in the week and a half we've been here than in 6 months in the DC area.

So - things are good with you I presume?

The recording session went well. I was worried(being the stress monster I am) that I was going to fuck it all up. There are still 4 more sessions but my work is done. Now it is up to the rest of The Sins to make me look good.

Nothing like a Saturday morning spent in the pouring rain watching 7 year olds play soccer.

My...

I think its a girl thing--I love to find stage accessories and clothes for my boy. I'm also apparently going to be making backdrops for photshoots and live shows, when they book live shows someday.

Coldstone is wonderful. Addictive. Fattening. Expensive. Delicious.
stryka:
Thanks for the good wishes. So far not too many bites, I'm going to put up flyers for the one i'm trying to start off line.

Good luck w/ the band! Maybe you'll tour phili smile

Wow that sucked..... I needed a friggin clone last week. I finally got enough time to pay for this site.

I have all kinds of cool shit going on. I did a photo shoot with The Sins last sunday. One of the photographers is a fairly well know fetish/gothic artist in Seattle. Her name is Rayce Conway. Her website has all kinds of cool stuff....

voile:
thanks.

I got cut from work at around midnight tonight because it got really slow. I made a whopping 35 bucks... Canadian. So that translates into about 25 bucks american. Man that blows. How depressing.

so I'm drinking some hot chocolate make me feel better. smile

Do you ever have the problem of lots of thoughts bouncing around in the brain yet nothing worth a damn can get out. I have been staring at this journal page for an hour and have deleted everything except this.

I need inspiration........

Thanks, everything turned out fine smile

And nothing a day in NY couldn't clear out of my system. You should take a long walk in the rain. (W/ a heavy raincoat) and then a hot shower, it'll make you feel better! smile
voile:
I'm losing brain cells as I sit here watching a bad Steven Segal movie... so you're doing a whole lot better than I am!

As we all probably feel robbed of that precious hour of sleep here goes a monday I would have loved to skip. But being the overlly responsible type I cannot fake sickness to stay home. Hell I can't even seem to stay home when I am sick. IE last week...

I took my son to the Museum of Flight yesterday and we had a good...

It's so hard not to feel bad about putting your foot down with children. Especially if they are generally good and sweet. I always feel like a terrible old hag when I do it. How old is your son?

The blue pill tasted sinful. See my new entry for the lurid details. surreal
voile:
Correction: child. As in one little girl, who is also turning 7 in a month or so.

The proposition is scary... and I'm not going to do it. But tempting none the less.

Random thought Thursday.

Being in 2 bands sucks.... not enough brain cells left to focus on both.

My grass is 8 feet tall, but as I leave at 7 a.m. and get home at 10:00 pm all I can do is watch it grow. (I hope that kid of mine can start mowing soon)

Jagr bombs rock for cold medication...

My first project with The...

Just to make things more interesting during this busy time for me. I get sick. Dayquill rules though........To quote my mom.. I will survive. No wait that was Gloria Gaynor. Dayquill rules..... Just a slight little buzz........

I feel dumber than usual, so anything I say today cannot be held against me.

Okay people stop by and tell me the things that you look forward...

Well, I sold another Gretsch snare that was definitely from the 60's and it had some crazy white pearl psychodelic skin and it was beautiful. It was such a strange size, too. Like a 14x14" or something. At first I thought it was a tom that had been converted to a snare but it was actually all original. The shell was perfect, nothing was cracked or damaged. I couldn't tune it for some reason ... but you don't honestly think I know how to do that anyway, do you? I was just having trouble with equal torque so I guess maybe some of the threads needed waxing or something ... but overall it was in what I would call *very good* condition for something of its age. It's the just the really ugly ones that amaze me. And I see them altogether too often. And they ALWAYS sell.

Oh, the UGLIEST thing I ever saw? (Drum related, I mean...) When we got that beautiful DK cocktail kit, there were some red glitter drum sticks that came with it. I was about to ask if drummers are just extra tacky or something but then I remembered the orange glitter flying v guitar and realize that no one has a monopoly on a bad taste. No really ... it was orange glitter. And someone did, indeed, buy it from eBay. whatever

Today doesn't suck because my customer fucked up and then somehow a big project I thought needed to be done was STANDARD with our new system, so now I'm waiting on them and can walk proudly down the hall. This is just dumb luck, no effort on my part ... but how do you like me now? wink I probably won't get fired again today. Damn, I lead a charmed life.

How's Monday for you? smile
malloryknoxx:
LOL @ "echo chamber". You are so correct. The whole house is wood floors now and the echo is ridiculous with no furniture.

So how did practice go?

Edited because I should never post at 2 am after drinking red/bull and vodka.........

My nephew's play last night was very cool. This kid is ultra talented in the arts. He was the beast in "Beauty and the Beast" He has an incredible deep powerful singing voice for a 16 year old. He also plays the piano, Drums, Guitar, Bass...
That is just amazing to...

You know what's funny? I didn't think that was a sad story. Ken & Barbie suck mad but I get to move and hopefully somewhere I really love. It WILL be better in the end. I am touched that everyone seems to worry about me, though.

I'm not working today BUT I am also out of 420 and that's how my weekend job pays me ... so I'm starting to get a little antsy. Think I'll make it until tomorrow? whatever

Have a great day! kiss

It is hard to find good people but I find more of them per square inch on this site than anywhere in years. That makes me happy! In fact, a nice man from this site is taking me to Elvis Costello tonight. And I'm about to run a snare stand over to thrashead at his record shop. We all just seem to help each other. Yesterday, MalloryKnoxx unknowingly inspired me to do something super groovie. And then there is nolefdetnaw ... love ... blush ... let's just say he helps me in ways that most of you will never get the chance to. OMG, is he HOT! LOL ... I sound like a damned teenager.

Anyway, he's bringing me to Seattle in just 3 more weeks. You seem to keep ignoring me when I tell you that. So what should we do for fun and excitement up there? I have never been any further north than Sacramento, so this should be an adventure. We are meeting a few SG'ers along the route. Maybe we can arrange to show up at your place at about, oh, 4:20? wink
