Hrmm...as far as art I like doing. Lately I've been heading in a more dark direction. Lots of skulls and evil-ish faces. I'm working on a couple big pieces right now. Once is a half sleeve of a samurai head with a really cool facemask, with a bansai tree in the background. That's all color. The other is distorted face with the eyelids sewn shut with a 3rd eye on the forhead, but it's a reptile eye. I'll post some pics of them once I start them. Right now I'm just in the design phase of it. I came from a busy street shop back east to an almost completely custom shop with award winning artists. So there is some pressure for me here. Hehe. Things are going well though. I actually worked my first convention a month ago in Mesa and took 2nd place in the 'Skull and Bones" category for a piece i did at the show. It was a good weekend.

nah, i'm around, it's that whole working full time and then some single mom and doing some direct sales on the side. Life gets so busy I'll forget to stop and smell the flowers. Or just touch down for some good ole fashion human interaction.

Awww, you sound like an awesome dad. Your son won't hate you--he just won't want to talk to you for a few years, unless its to borrow money. :p

AMEN - preach ON, brother!! After the shit we went through with the house we sold in March, I'm perfectly fine with going back to renting for at LEAST a year.

Things are pretty good here - i'm taking care of business and all that and roling along just fine.

Yup, I have a completed resume. I updated it yesterday and tweaked it for the counselor job. It still feels kinda boring to me. Now I just have to find out if they are accepting resumes yet.

MTV isn't even about music anymore. Hell, MTV 2 doesn't even play music half the time. I like Viva La Bam as much as the next girl, but it seems to take up half of their air time.

Do you happen to remember MTV when it first started? That was back in the days when there were only like 60 stations on cable, but MTV was awesome! The best videos were those that were done on a shoestring budget and actually used imagination. I am confused though ... they don't play music any more, so then they made MTV2 for the music, only that music SUCKS! The trained sheep in my house -- you know, the ones that call my music RETRO -- watch those reality shows like they are instructional videos. And don't get me started about Jackass or the likes.

Well, I guess it is just a case of survival of the fitest. The kids watch Jackass and unintentionally commit suicide, something like pouring chlorine in the gene pool. I'm sure I told you that my son drove his van off a cliff once (on purpose -- and I blame Jackass), but I think I neglected to tell the story about stalker school (I blame Crank Yankers).

After saying all of that ... I feel like I need to slap another co-worker. Has it been an hour yet?

It is starting to cloud over and rain... but at this point nothing can ruin my evening. Good friends, good music... who could ask for more?

Very good. But no, actually, it's called "Red Devil". It said so right on the packaging. I prefered it over the blue one... which was called "Blue Angel".

lol Ehhh.....that compromise sounds perfect to me as well....but probably wouldn't be so great in practice. Dammit.

And yeah - I bought the Queensryche *cassette* (how's THAT for an age-o-meter??) when it came out too and then the cd later...but lost them both awhile back by lending them out. THIS one stays with me

I'm finding that my stomach isn't handling a lot of stuff like it used to as well - for example...spicy food and I don't get along very well anymore...I probably need to cut back on coffee too. *sigh*.

The worst part of my day is waking up. I just wanna stay in bed and sleep a little longer.

When we will all learn that going to the airport is like going to the doctor's office? Every time. That's irritating... but it sounds like you had a great time, despite all.

It's tough to change when there are obligations all around you. I wish I knew what to suggest. Maybe a job change? Or just get away by yourself for a few days and soul search?

I guess that was a rhetorical question, since I don't know you, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I understand completely. I hope you figure out what it is you need for yourself. Sometimes being away from it for a few days clears your head and starts your brain thinking in terms of "me" and not "we". And sometimes that's good for you. At least, it works for me.
