Just got back from the video store. Rented Sideways and Perfect Blue (Japanese anime - it's supposed to be very intense), and bought a bunch of five dollar VHS'. Nothing to write home about.

On the way back decided to stop at the grocery store. I love shopping at midnight. You get to see all the other lonely people just getting off their shit jobs...

Oh, and that little burn out I did in front of the cop was literally in front of the cop. I heard him yelling at me as I drove past him, still spinning the tires. biggrin Probably he called ahead on the radio, but I know the back streets in that area damn good (thanks to my mad crazy Pizza Delivery experience). wink

Well, I just watched Sideways. Spectacular movie - stellar. Perfect in every way. This is what true filmmaking is all about, ladies and gentleman. That American cinema can still make movies of this caliber is inspiring, to say the least, especially considering all the dribble they have been putting out the last few years. As for the ending - let me just say that it pissed me off righteously, but it made a perfect movie even better. Still, Alexander Payne is a fucker - but I love all his movies. Strange that this movie about wine leads to an analogy that his skills as a director are akin to a bottle of fine wine - he keeps getting better with age.

I'll also add that this is not only a movie that would make me happy to pay twenty bucks for it (I usually wait for a DVD to get down to 15 or so), but I honestly haven't laughed so hard since I saw Napoleon Dyanmite, even though it's not really a comedy. That part about Hayden and the ostrich farm at night - holy shit, I thought I was going to piss myself I laughed so damn hard.

Now I should watch Perfect Blue, but I think it'd be too much of a downer following such a funny, poignant movie. One of those videotapes I bought has to be funny or at least not too serious.

This is how hard I can sleep.

Some 100mph car chase from several towns over ended less then 100 ft from my window, with about two dozen cop cars from three towns, and I didn't even wake up. I learned about it on the news.

I need food. I'm going to Quiznos.

Oh, and a cop car crashed into the fucking building, too.

ha ha ha!

Read your comment on the nuke thread and went here to check who wrote it...that is some pretty funny shit to read when you are trying to figure out what some stranger is about biggrin

Noticed that you didn't have "Crummy" by Linda Barry in your list of books, so I bet you haven't read it. You should, because you would like it enough to rank it in that list. (judging by your tastes in authors)

Well, I finally got my Dad's old 35mm Minolta camera. Only took me the better part of 15 years. Say what you will, but it's still a top-of-the-line camera. Nothing digital about it, but it does have a built in light meter which is just incredibly fucking cool. Now all I need is my friend's old dark room, or access to one, or a cool...

Less then three weeks to go, and maybe as little as two.

Man, spent like six hours today just walking, walking, walking, walking.

Went to the Zoo. Had a blast. The 40-foot Reticulated Python is gone, unfortunately, but the eyeless cave fish were still there (talk about fucking cool). My friend had a blast.

Then we went to the San Antonio Museum of Art. Fucking killer place. It'd changed a lot since I had last been, and...

Oh my God.

I just found close to seven or eight thousand baseball cards. In them are probably ten grand worth of shit, easily. For example, I found more then a few Barry Bond's rookie cards, both Bo Jackson rookie cards (one baseball, one football), even a Ken Griffey, Jr. rookie card. Those were just on top of the pile. Needless to say, I have just about every baseball card made from 89-92, several complete sets of 92 Gold Cards (the ones with the gold leaf on 'em), and a ton of other cool shit.

Despite finding enough shit to pay off my truck, the single coolest find was a picture of my dead Grandpa. He's smiling and hugging the old Italian lady down the street who always gave me toys as a kid and treated me better then her own. I don't know why I'm not crying at that picture, cause I really want to, but I just can't. Maybe I need some booze.

Just watched "Bringing Down the House" with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah and Eugene Levy. Much, much, much better then I expected (didn't expect anything). This is probably one of Levy's funniest movie roles in a very long time. Even better then any of his American Pie movies.

Am going to try and get to the Zoo, the Botanical Garden, the Japanese Tea Gardens, and...

Oh, and Mary's new set is beyond hot, as always. Especially the last few pictures with the dress - she pulls off the classy look better then anyone on the site, if you ask me (and you probably didn't, but now you know for future reference).

Helped my friend put a new starter on her Subaru today. Except for one fused bolt, everything went pretty good. Had to jury rig some of the electrical, because of the fused bolt, but it works. Smells kind of electrical, but that's no surprise. Course, the hood latch breaking sucked ass, cause then I couldn't do a final inspection after the test drive.

Am bored...

I don't understand why you can't just stick the kid in a pet carrier in the trucks bed biggrin

The wont be enough room in the new vette for you to have a similar setup to what your truck has , and there is not enough room in the vette for the GM engineers to find a safe way of mounting the child seat , though I saw one the other day with a fake luggage rack on the rear deck , it was allmost biig enough for a 12 pack tongue

If anyone out there loves me, they will buy me this car. Maybe in a few years I can afford it myself, but rest assured that when I can, I'll fucking buy one. 500hp, good gas mileage, sexy styling, and all for under $52k! This thing will spank a Ferrari and a Lamborghini, together, and make them BOTH it's bitch, and do it for a...

After I come back from Cancun , I may accept a position at an aerospace company here in Connecticut , which means no more commuting to NYC on a daily basis and no longer having a need for a car with good fuel economy or my daily gumball rally . I've been eyeing the new BMW M5 with it's 500hp V-10 with a 8250RPM redline love love love love love love love love love love . It's allmost 70 out and the sun is shining and they are stocking the trout stream that runs through my yard today , so when I start to divert some water into my pond in a couple of weeks " I still need to place stucture and stuff " I'll score some free trout without using a casting net
