Quick update.

Just got my truck back from the warranty checkup. I am appalled! They told me it would be ready at 3:30PM and I'll be damned if it wasn't ready at 3:30PM! What the hell's wrong with these people, getting me my truck when they say they would! This is a huge dealer and they actually keep their word! Pfft!

wink

Seriously, Fiesta Dodge is a kick ass place. I like it much better then Red McCombs. And they're hella cheap. Everywhere else quoted me around forty bucks for my 18k checkup, but they only charged me 26 bucks. Right on!

So I have two projects now.

My Dad's truck. It's got a lot of miles, 125k, and I've decided he's going to give it to my older brothers, whose S10 was in a pretty bad accident and is going to be nothing but problems from here on out. Since he has two kids and a newly wed wife, I think he needs a better vehicle. And, since my Dad was planning on getting rid of his truck in a couple months anyways, why not kill two birds with one stone? So, I need to change out the air filter with a K&N (he never let me before, but now that I've bought it he can't do a fucking thing about it cause I tore up the receipt and it's now mine permanently...despite the fact that I could still probably return it for store credit), change out the tranny fluid and add some additives (ones that actually work), and tune up the engine with new plugs, wires, and some more additives (that actually work).

I also need to do some work to my truck. Since I've decided to keep it, I'm going to need to beef up my suspension. I hate stock suspensions, even if the ride quality is very good. I like my cars to ride so stiff you'd think they had steel rods for shocks. My last truck had huge shocks on it (was fairly cheap to get the suckers put on, too). So, this one is getting new shocks, probably off-road ones, or at least the biggest I can go without voiding the warranty. Also, am probably going to be adding dual flowmaster exhaust, more for the extra torque then for the sound (I'll need extra power to be towing a five thousand pound trailer to Seattle). But I'm going to be bolting on a Class III tow hitch myself, most likely. U-Haul will do it all, including parts, for 240. BUT, I can get all the parts and whatnot at AutoZone for under 150, and it's a complete bolt in kit, so as long as I don't need to lift the bed (which isn't much of a possibility if Uhaul will do the install for only 240).

I'm excited to have two projects, even if one of them, which sadly is my own truck, is going to be done by other people for the most part. I can get the exhaust for three hundred, and if I do the shocks at the same time I can get them done for probably two hundred, if not a whole lot less. Course, doing the shocks shouldn't be too hard to do on my own, I'll just need a full day in someone's driveway and a couple good jacks.

Now I need to do some work. Got a new renter, which means I just made a large bonus (probably 350 bucks). Course this also means I need to drive my ass all the way to the other side of town to get the paperwork signed. What are ya going to do?

Luckily I make them nervous , so they stay away from me biggrin

WOW .... you guys sure get fucked on the price for that Z-MAX shit down there , it sells for $30 at the local wallmart up here eeek

You should use Marvel Mystery Oil to flush the motor , remove the spark plugs and fill the oil pan with it and turn the starter for several 15 second intervals and then let the motor sit overnight , adding some to each cylinder will help remove deposits from the rings , in the morning turn the starter for several 15 second intervals again " you can also remove the distributor and use a drill to turn the oil pump " this will flush the motor and help to recondition the seals .

Use Redline Water Wetter in the radiator with staight water , the motor will run at least 20 degrees cooler biggrin

It's sitting three feet high in the garage for the winter , all of my digital photos are too high resolution to be uploaded to the site , they have a 150kb max file size limit , and some of my photos are 20mb even after being run through a scanner , I thing I can reduce the resolution on my new camcorder for a shitty garage shot or two , all of my weights are in the way and the lighting is poor , but I'll give it a shot
