It's amazing just how drunk you can get off of relatively small amounts of liquor if you drink them as fast as you can. On that note, I loathe finishing up all my work for the day and sitting down to watch a DVD and then, right when I'm so drunk I don't want to move, I get a fucking super important telephone call and I have to pretend like I'm not drunk. Ugh.
Bought Club Dred and Belly on DVD yesterday. First, I'd like to say that Best Buy and Circuit City sucks (though on a scale of 1 to 10 Best Buy is a 12, and Circuit City is only a 3...at least Circuit City is open when they say they will be). Neither had ANY of the fucking movies on my list. NOT ONE. It was a list with like twenty fucking movies on it!!!
That said, Club Dred is fucking HILARIOUS. I LOVE IT! Sure, it's campy and cheesy, but it's just a fun, hilarious movie. The commentaries are awesome. Brittany Daniel is the hottest thing the human race has ever known. Broken Lizard is the funniest - I cannot wait for their next movie, and I am going to order their first (Puddle something or other).
Belly. Wow, what to say? Just an awesome movie. A truly paramount film. Even if you hate these "black" films, as it were, this is worth a watch. Arguably one of the best made American movies of our time. No joke. I say that a lot, but this belongs solidly on any film freaks top ten list. Due to the content and what most people find to be obscure language, this was not as critically acclaimed a movie as it should have been. But it should have won a fucking Oscar for best film. It's smart, tragic, poignant, dramatic, and just tremendously powerful and moving.
What else? Oh, I finally broke down and purchased Knights of the Old Republic, only to find that my video card sucks. I had to upgrade it anyways for Morrowind, but now I can't get around it. Oh yeah, KOTOR is now the biggest game I have ever installed on a computer. Morrowind was before with a total of just over a gigabyte needed to install. KOTOR took over FOUR gigabytes on my hard drive (installation required four discs!). That's insane! My operating system isn't that fucking big!
Well, think I'll drive to Barnes and Noble. Have no idea what I want to buy, but it seems like a good idea. Maybe not. I just need to get out of this apartment. Why the fuck doesn't this apartment complex have a hot tub or a heated pool or a sauna like my old one? I could really go for some hot water outdoors right now.
