Well here I am in London, and thanks to an internet cafe that's just up the road I'm now able to check the wacky world of the web (I have no idea why I just used the word wacky, I hate it about as much as I hate the word zany). Well my new housemates all seem really nice and I had my first night...

We were talking about the egg thing in the pub and some woman leaned over and told us that you should put it in when it's boiling, but that it was because the shell would crack otherwise. But I don't keep eggs in the fridge so they aren't that cold anyway.
teela:
eh up, good luck with the job and stuffs! i still owe you an annotated map! but check out my journal, halloween party on the 29th if you feel like being adventurous and meeting more londoners! but then fair dos if you're doing other stuff, just thought i'd extend the offer!

Well I'm moving up to London tomorrow and of course I haven't done nearly enough packing. Oh well. Start work on Monday, looking forward to it.

It may be a while until I'm online again, so wish me luck, I'm going in and I hope to see you all on the other side. wink

Thank the gods for HMV sales, I picked up Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti for 5.99. I am now grooving to Kashmir at every opportunity. It's the one track that every "epic" rock group having been failing to rip off for years. I also picked up Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas for a couple of quid so that should be a fun read at some...

I heard Sons and Daughters supporting Cave this August just gone.

I used to live by Turnpike Lane, its a great area, and close to Ally Pally. I suggest you go there to get some great views of London.

Speak soon
dylan:
Ha! That IS annoying, one of my housemates last year did that, and she also totally missed the point of anything you were watching.

Last night my good friend Andrew and myself went to the Dungeon in Southampton. Neither of us had been there for at least a year, possibly two in my case and last time we where there it was full of under-age drinkers. We went expecting to be the old fuckers in the corner who would be mumbling about how much we hate this emo shit...

Bored. There is no way of escaping the fact I'm bored. It's strange really most people would job at the chance of a month long holiday, but I'm currently in darkest Hampshire with very little to do. I guess I'm one of these people that is actually full of energy and needs a focus for it. Oh well I'll probably be bitching when I start...

oh the third man is on today?? on terrestrial?? i must watch! although am working, but maybe i can get my neighbours to tape it for me...i love that flm! oddly enough...i think it's in my favourites ^^

i should rewatch fargo it would give me a lot more credibility than losing sleep over bloody OC! god i'd forgotten sunset beach though, that was a prime example of compulsive shite! i used to watch the weekend omnibus edition, i tend to work better with marathon viewing sessions i think. i rarely watch stuff but when i do it's for like 10 hours straight or similar...

SG is a good way to alleviate boredom for a time...i want a month-long holiday! but then i don't really know what's in hampshire, or if i'm strictly honest, where it is... shocked

Well looking after my nephew was fun as always, excpet for the fact that he now likes watching Barney! He only has the one video so we keep having to watch this giggling monster over and over again. Barney has no soul and those children he hangs around with are dead eyed zombie brats from the very depths of hell itself! On the other hand...

Oh I know, I felt bad for them, but Hanoi Rocks were so trashed the whole gig was a farce and it was truly funny smile It was still hilarious seeing the technicians sidestage shaking their heads and looking incredibly unimpressed as the singer (forget his name, but he looks like an anorexic Goldie Hawn) pulled out yet another cable, and knocked over yet another stand...
teela:
that quote thing you posted rang true though, that was almost exactly the point i was trying to describe! it's always reassuring to find out that you're not alone in thinking stuff so even if it wasn't an answer per se, it was a more complete explanation of my thoughts - and the fact that you thought of that when reading my entry shows i was making some sense at least! hurrah! and thanks!

barney is nuts and should be taxidermied....

i OFTEN feel that there are too many things i should have experienced that i haven't, but i don't assume that i won't. i feel like there isn't enough money but there is always time and opportunity - you have a lifetime ahead of you! and people always tend to turn up and force these awakenings on you anyway!

will sort map when back in London so tomorrow or Thursday biggrin

Well today was good because I found The Long Goodbye on DVD for 5 smile . It was an interesting take on Marlowe and his world. Well I'm off to my sisters for a few days tomorrow which is great cause it means I can put on my Uncle hat for a few days with my nephew. Being an uncle is just great biggrin. I''m thinking...

ooh i've not seen the film of the long goodbye yet! was it good? how close to the book is it? is it the modern-styled gangster one that isn't really noir? think i did see it in a store at some point. repo man is utterly weird but quite enjoyable i think!

you should definitely check out those comic stores, i can send you a map for a treasure-hunt style thing if you like! london is an amazing town and it's good if you are thinking of it as yours - people tend to either really bond with it or really not take to it

Spent too much money today on DVDs and books. I got the Battlestar Galactica mini-series which was very good and I might now be forced to buy the season 1 box set. I got Fargo and Sleepy Hollow having already seen both I know they are both good damn fine. I also got 28 Days Later and Repo Man which I am looking forward too....

Yeah...I know. That's why I didn't yell, or throw up on her. But I am very worried as to where she's put it now.
And hey, I like to give all my friends dead mice as presents. The extra special ones get giant rats too smile
zombieelvis:
Hey fella, glad to see a NC&TBS fan amongst all these emo kids. You see the Ally Pally gig?

Well I've got a room in a shared house in North London smile . That's one less thing to worry about now. I can now enjoy this holiday. Going to Plasa at Earl's Court this Tuesday and work r paying for it smile . It's a good chance to meet my future work mates. Should be fun.
dylan:
I agree it's better the tramp guy was spending his (or, the general public's) cash on beer and pot than heroin, but it seems cheeky to be begging for money at all when you have a house and could technically get a bloody job like everyone else has to smile
dylan:
And peanut m&m's smile

It feels like my head is going to explode from all the property websites I've been looking at today. Well I suppose the sooner I find somewhere (near the tube oh god let it be near the tube) the better. So if anyone from London is reading this and needs a flatmate I'm house trained, easy to get along with and have damn good taste...
